The Monroe County Sheriff's Office Animal Farm has two charming new residents that are sure to steal visitors’ hearts: Sid and Sylvia, a lovable pair of two-toed sloths. The sloth duo arrived at the farm after being gifted by the Shell Factory Nature Park in Fort Myers, which closed its doors last month. The nature park has been busy finding homes for the hundreds of animals in its care, and Sid and Sylvia are among the lucky few to find a new home at the Animal Farm.

Sid, the elder of the two, is 10 years old, while his partner, Sylvia, is a sprightly 9. Together, they’ve settled into their new surroundings at the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Animal Farm, where they are expected to become a big hit with visitors.

"Sloths are naturally slow, but Sid and Sylvia’s adjustment to the Animal Farm has been anything but sluggish," said a representative from the farm. "They’ve quickly become favorites among our staff and we’re sure the public will love them too."

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office Animal Farm, located right here in the Florida Keys, is open to the public twice a month—on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month from 1 to 3 p.m. Admission is completely free, making it a perfect weekend outing for families and animal lovers of all ages.

Whether you’re a fan of furry creatures or just looking for a relaxing day out, Sid and Sylvia are sure to provide a delightful reason to visit. Don’t miss your chance to meet these gentle, slow-moving superstars, along with the other animals at the farm, ranging from miniature horses to emus.

If you're looking for a unique way to spend a Sunday, come by and say hello to Sid and Sylvia. Who knows—maybe their relaxed pace of life will help you unwind too!
