The City of Key West has installed a new bicycle parking corral at the intersection of Petronia Street and Whitehead Street. The facility provides 20 bicycle parking spaces. The parking spaces use Loop Racks on Rails, which consist of inverted U-shaped metal racks mounted on a rail system. The corral occupies one former on-street vehicle parking space.

The installation supports short-term parking for residents and visitors. It is located in the Bahama Village area, near Duval Street. Nearby locations include Blue Heaven restaurant at 729 Thomas Street, Santiago’s Bodega at 207 Petronia Street, and the Key West Lighthouse at 938 Whitehead Street.

The project is part of the City’s Bicycle Pedestrian Master Plan, adopted by the City Commission in 2019. The plan includes goals to increase bicycle parking and reduce vehicle congestion. As of May 2024, the city maintained 3,397 bicycle parking spaces island-wide. Additional corrals were installed in 2024 on Seminole Street.Residents may request new bicycle parking locations through the Key West Connect mobile app. The city evaluates requests based on available space and demand.

A complete list of bicycle parking locations is available on the City of Key West website at cityofkeywest-fl.gov under the Car-Free Key West section. The site includes an interactive map showing rack locations and types.Bicycle registration is available at no cost at the Key West Police Department, 1604 N Roosevelt Boulevard.
